Gandhi believed that
to drive the gun out of politics
he had to invite God in.
Hmm. Often God is the justification for using guns. Gandhi was saying we cannot escape the use of guns in politics without bringing God in.
Maybe the difference is this:
One approach uses God as a symbol to help it violently pursue it’s own agenda.
The other approach actually submits to the self-disciplined, future-serving, peacemaking and neighbor-loving agenda of God.
