Here are two thoughtful questions that came my way yesterday.
Regarding the good things that are happening that work against the current Admnistration’s direction: “Will it be enough to stop fascism from taking hold? We’ll see.”
The deep corruptions swirling in our political life are impenetrably complex and powerful.
But I still hope and think they can be – not solved – but slowed and dispersed, survived and left behind, and the results somewhat repaired by complex swirls of truthfulness and smart action and integrity and good intention from mobs of us in DC and out here …
“The other question is, if you’re on the list of people who may be singled out, is anywhere safe?”
No – I doubt it. Unless you’re just awfully lucky. So my attitude is – this is one of those great moral crisis times. We’re damned for sure if we don’t, and only MAYBE damned if we do, so play the odds. Besides, it’s the right thing to do.
