One of the oddities of how Jesus thinks:
But Jesus called the children to him and said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.
I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.”
“Like a little child.” Hmm. How do little children operate? These are notes I recently wrote in the margin next to the above words. Am I getting close?
Little children tend to be
- happy
- attentive
- curious
- responsive
- basically trusting
- open
- honest (or their dishonesty is self-aware, and pretty transparent)

The problem for many folks, is that they confuse “childlike” with “childish”.
