  • Oh, yes. That warning is very appropriate. Actually there is “gringo Mexican food” up here, and a little real Mexican or Tex-Mex food. But you usually have to travel an hour or three to get something authentic (e.g. El Paraiso in Lexington), or get a friend with the proper roots to do something up for you. It’s worth the effort.

    Haven’t been to Texas for probably 25 years. Sad. But we will remember the offer!

  • My traveling spouse warns against ordering regional food outside the region, and I don’t know that I would dare order Mexican food in Nebraska, but nevertheless I salute your observance of Cinco de Mayo and if you come down here to Texas we will take you out for the real thing. . . . .
