    Yes, that would be a big project that Christians that were actually involved with farming should probably do with thier time. Which I am not. I have been told that Mormons actually do this kind of thing quite well. But they are a very large church and have the organization and resources to do so.

    As a suggestion, get your local farmers together in a co-op, and form your own local canning facilities.

    I know this may be off topic, but I am concerned with the amount of food growing being out-sourced to other countries. I live in a very fertile farming area (Eastern Washington) and we have lost all asparagus canning to overseas and numerous canning plants have shut down, like Seneca, and Green Giant just moved to Peru! And when these plants move overseas, there is no place for the crops to go so the market for whatever was processed there is gone, and the farm goes under. It’s a very bad thing all the way around, and I think it’s dangerous to become even more dependent on other countries than we already are, especially when it comes to food.
